Welcome to Program Studi Pendidikan Dokter Spesialis Obstetri dan Ginekologi Faculty of Medicine Universitas Muslim Indonesia. I address this page primarily to fellow doctors who are considering continuing their specialist education, and to students who are already in the middle of their journey.
What to expect
Obstetri dan Ginekologi specialist education is not an ordinary continuation of medical education. He demanded a willingness to be in the hospital at inconvenient hours, to make decisions when circumstances were not fully clear, and to accept corrections without offense. Most of the learning takes place next to the patient, under supervision, and is graded gradually — until it is finally tested on a national competency exam whose standards are set Kolegium Obstetri dan Ginekologi Indonesia.
We will not say that this period is light. What we can promise is that the weight is measured, directed, and not lived alone.
What we provide
Students study at Rumah Sakit Pendidikan Utama Ibnu Sina YW UMI with a network hospital, with the guidance of lecturers and consultants from various divisions. The curriculum is competency-based and follows Kolegium coaching.
Outside of the daily schedule, students are included in relevant training and scientific forums — including basic ultrasonography training with regional Kolegium Obgin and seminars on strengthening fetal echocardiography competence. The program is also open to mutual learning: we visit established institutions, and receive visits from other medical faculties who are preparing similar programs.
What we're looking for
Clinical competence is a requirement, not an end goal. What we hope to grow with her is the way you deal with patients: a willingness to explain to be understood, patience in the face of an anxious family, and guarding the honor of the woman who entrusts her body to you.
We also hope you don't stop at what appears on the check table. Many maternal health problems are rooted long before the patient arrives at the hospital — in nutrition, in distance, in knowledge that does not arrive. A specialist who understands that will be more useful to his community than one who is only proficient in the action space.
