History

The faculty that preceded it

The Faculty of Medicine Universitas Muslim Indonesia was established in 1992 under the auspices of Yayasan Wakaf UMI, and to this day has graduated thousands of doctors serving various regions of Indonesia. Before this specialist program was opened, the faculty organized two study programs — Bachelor of Medicine and Doctoral Profession — both of which were accredited Superior by LAM-PTKes.

That experience became the basis when the faculty proposed the opening of the Obstetri dan Ginekologi specialist doctor education program: a level that, until then, had never been held by private universities in Indonesia.

Study program trip

• 1992Faculty of Medicine Universitas Muslim Indonesia stands under the auspices of Yayasan Wakaf UMI.
• February 2024FK UMI cooperates with Medical Faculty Shimane University, Izumo, Japan.
• March 2024Kolegium Obstetri dan Ginekologi Indonesia conducted workshops and visitations to FK UMI as part of the preparation for the opening of the study program.
• May 2024Three FK UMI lecturers presented the research results at the AOFOG 2024 congress in Busan, South Korea.
• June 2024Kolegium Obstetri dan Ginekologi Indonesia publishes recommendations for the opening of study programs.
• August 2024The permit for implementation is issued through the Decree of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia Number 463/E/O/2024. UMI became the first private university in Indonesia to organize it, and the selection of the first batch of students was immediately carried out.
• November 2024The inaugural social service of the study program was carried out in Mamuju Tengah Regency.
• February 2025The study program received Good accreditation from LAM-PTKes; the matriculation of the second batch was carried out; and the cooperation with Shimane University was extended through the signing of the MoA.
• March 2025FK UMI benchmarked to FK Universitas Indonesia and Kolegium.
• November 2025.The second batch of students took the National Competency Exam InaCOG Part I.
• May 2026Learners attended the Kolegium Obgin regional basic ultrasonography training in RS Unhas; four participants passed the InaCOG National Competency Exam Part 2.
• June 2026All participants were declared to have passed the implementation of UKN InaCOG Part 1 with UMI as the flashlight of the organizer.

What marked this trip

In a short time this study program not only accepted students, but also began to be visited: the Faculty of Medicine, University of Batam and the Faculty of Medicine, University of Muhammadiyah Malang came to study its implementation and RS Ibnu Sina YW UMI facilities. At the same time, FK UMI itself continues to learn from established institutions.
